Our Origin Story

Our Mission

The National Registry of Standby Guardians (NRSBG) seeks to reduce or eliminate the need for children to enter the foster system through the use of standby custodial agreements. Our work is carried out by a group of volunteer legal professionals working in various social service settings to arrange and execute standby agreements between parent and prospective guardian.

Give Donation

Our donation paltforms will be open in January of 2021.

Become a Volunteer

We seek professional volunteers in the fields of family law, social services, ethics, technology, and social media.

Fund Raising

Fund raising opportunities will be available in 2021.

What you can do.

Children at risk of entering the foster system need one thing more than any other thing – you! They need family and community who know them to register as a standby guardian in case their immediate family cannot support and care for them. Through our registry, you can identify yourself and a child you know who may be at risk. All standby applicants are subject to thorough background checks on a yearly basis.

Our goal for 2021 is simple: Prevent just one child from entering the foster system. Just one.
